How it works
Simple steps from task to payment.
ProofPay is built around one idea: payment follows proof. Here's how it works.
For people completing tasks
Create your account
Sign up for ProofPay and connect a supported way to receive bitcoin over Lightning. [Confirm exact payout setup, e.g., linking a Strike account or a Lightning address.]
Choose a task
Browse available tasks. Each one lists what to do, what proof is required, and what it pays.
Complete the task and submit proof
Do the work and submit the required proof through the app.
Verification
Your submission is checked against the task's requirements. [Describe the verification method: automated checks, task-creator review, or both.]
Get paid
Once your work is verified, payment is sent in bitcoin over the Lightning Network through Strike. ProofPay never holds it along the way.
For people posting tasks
[Include this section only if task posting is part of the product at launch.]

Approved work triggers payment over Lightning.
Why Lightning?
The Lightning Network is a payment layer built on top of bitcoin. It's designed for fast, low-cost payments, including very small ones, which makes it a good fit for paying per task.
Why Strike?
Strike is an established bitcoin and Lightning payments provider. Building on Strike lets ProofPay use proven payment infrastructure instead of running our own payment system or holding user funds.
Frequently asked questions
Does ProofPay hold my bitcoin?
No. ProofPay is non-custodial. We don't keep user balances or take custody of your funds.
How fast are payments?
Lightning payments usually settle quickly once they're sent. Timing also depends on how long verification takes for each task.

What happens if my submission isn't approved?
[Describe the rejection and appeal process.]
Is ProofPay available in my country?
[Availability TBD.] Join the waitlist and tell us your country so we can keep you posted.
